Unlimited Bandwidth Logibase is able to offer unlimited web space and bandwidth because our providers closely manage our network resources. We do not allow certain types of Websites to use our services, these are:

›› Adult content-orientated websites
›› File distribution websites e.g. a website distributing large movies, software or MP3s
›› Hosting banners, graphics or cgi scripts for other websites
›› Storing pages, files or data as a file repository for other websites
›› Reselling or giving away free web space under a domain, sub domain or directory

Our customers host genuine business or home websites and we have substantial capacity in our network to manage this. We can upgrade our bandwidth with our providers within 24 hours should we need to.

Unlimited Webspace Our providers operate a sophisticated web hosting platform that utilises large network disk arrays. If we need to add more web space this can be done by our provider with no downtime by adding more disks to the arrays. As there are multiple arrays, if one fails another one automatically takes over. As all data is synchronised this has no impact on any web sites or email hosted by Logibase. This dual system also allows us to carry out more complex upgrades by taking down any array and working on this while another array continues to serve our customers.

We are frequently asked, "If you run out of Web space will the web server be offline when you add more space?" The answer is no, there will be no interruption to your service.

All we ask is that files stored on your account are linked to or related to your website.

100% Dell Servers Our providers use only Dell servers in our web hosting. Utilising state-of-the-art technology our providers have built a web hosting platform that is second to none.

This web hosting platform is designed in such a way that if any server fails another server automatically and without delay takes over that server's workload. For example, if one of the mail servers breaks down another server automatically comes online, with all the correct configuration, and takes over the work of the failed server. During this period no email is lost.

As well as this, all data is stored in two large network disk arrays. Data is automatically synchronised between the arrays so that in the event of an array failing the remaining array continues to serve data to the servers with no downtime.

Strong Data Backup All network arrays operate RAID, a way of configuring a system so a disk can fail with no impact to data. As explained above our providers also operate the network arrays in mirrored pairs so a whole array can fail with no impact. Each array is also backed up every night to a separate backup cluster which is then written to tape and stored offsite.

These backup procedure goes above and beyond the majority of web hosting companies.

100% Cisco Gigabit Network Our providers network operates on industry-leading network equipment from Cisco Systems. All switches and routers are developed by Cisco. The network is based on gigabit technology, which means that it runs at a speed of 1000 Mb per second - most web hosting networks are limited to 100 Mb per second.

The network also utilises 100% CAT6 network cable, which contains four pairs of copper wire and, unlike CAT5, utilises all four pairs. CAT6 supports Gigabit (1000 Mbps) Ethernet and supports communications at more than twice the speed of CAT5e, which is the other popular standard for Gigabit Ethernet cabling.

Redhat Enterprise Linux Platform Redhat is the leading provider of Linux open source software. Connectivity Our providers operate a multi-homed network utilising BGP4 technology. Simply put, they have multiple connections to the Internet with different backbone providers, should any connection fail our other connections automatically take all the traffic. Not only does this mean that they are very unlikely to lose connectivity to the Internet, but it also means that traffic moving to and from the network can choose from a range of paths to get to its final destination. This means that the network is configured to always take the fastest path.
